Ministries

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45

What is Church Ministry?

Church ministry, in Christianity, refers to the actions Christians take to express or spread their faith, essentially carrying out Christ's mission in the world. It encompasses a wide range of activities, from actively participating in church services to engaging in outreach programs within the community. The primary purpose of church ministry is to help individuals grow closer to God, build up the church community, and contribute to society by sharing the message of Jesus Christ.

What does the Bible say about ministry?

According to the Bible, joining a ministry at church is encouraged because it allows you to use your God-given gifts to build up the body of Christ, participate in fellowship with other believers, and actively contribute to the church community, with key verses including: Ephesians 4:11-13 (equipping the saints for ministry), 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 (the church as a body with each member having a vital role), Hebrews 10:24-25 (encouraging one another to love and good works through gathering together), and Romans 12:4-8 (using your unique gifts to serve others within the church body.

How can I participate?

Volunteers are a vital part of our church community. God has given each of us unique gifts and abilities, and there are many different ways to serve. Choose a ministry you'd like to serve with below, and we will be in touch with you. Use your time and experience to have a positive impact on others! We encourage you to take some time to check out all of the opportunities to serve.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's ministry is a program that helps children grow and develop in their faith, and in their physical, emotional, and social needs, within a church community:

Activities: Children's ministry programs include age-appropriate activities like Bible study, crafts, music, games, and prayer time.
Mentorship: Children's ministry provides mentorship and counseling to help children navigate growing up.
Community: Children's ministry helps children form relationships with their peers and adult mentors.
Faith: Children's ministry teaches children about the Bible, Christian values, and the love of Jesus Christ.
Service: Children's ministry provides opportunities for children to serve others.
Open to all: Children's ministry is open to both Christian and non-Christian children.

Children's ministry can help children avoid the negative consequences of sin, and counterbalance worldly influences. It can also help children develop a sense of ownership and responsibility to the congregation

WORSHIP TEAM

A "worship team ministry" refers to a group of individuals within a church who are dedicated to leading the congregation in worship through music, typically consisting of singers, musicians, and sometimes technical operators, with the primary goal of creating an atmosphere that facilitates a deep and meaningful connection with God during worship services; it's considered a ministry because it's an active act of service to the church community, not just a performance.

If you like to sing or play an instrument and would like to join the worship team, please contact Brooke Boontjer

TECHNOLOGY TEAM

A technology team ministry, or tech team, is a group of people who use technology to help ministries, churches, and organizations spread the gospel. Tech teams are made up of active church members who are passionate about ministry and technology.

Technology Team is made up of those individuals who can work the

Hospitality Team

A "hospitality ministry" in a church refers to a dedicated group of individuals responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for visitors and members by greeting them at the door, providing information about the church, offering refreshments, and generally making people feel comfortable and valued when they attend services or events; essentially, it's about actively showing Christian kindness and hospitality to everyone who enters the church space.

Missions

A missions ministry is a church-led initiative focused on sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and performing humanitarian work outside a local church’s immediate community, often involving crossing cultural, geographical, or language borders. It fulfills Christ’s mission by supporting missionaries, planting churches, and serving needs locally or globally.

High School Ministry
Though we fully believe we are Better Together, we also know that today's youth still need
age sensitive opportunities to gather with their peers and grow in the Lord together. It is our
full intention to create:

• High School Ministry which is built around our Family Wide Mission and Values.
• Excellent, engaging and relevant ministry

2025/2026 High School Ministry Starts Nov. 2, 2025

5:30 pm  Every Sunday Evening

House Churches

One of the key components to gather is House Church. In House Church, believers are
treated to family, to food, to an opportunity to dig deeper into God's Word, to discover and
practice Spiritual Gifts, to receive and offer accountability, support and friendship as well as
having a whole team behind you as you Pastor Your Circles. Sounds good, doesn't it? We
think this is what God had in mind for His family. Each House Church will have:
• A Pastoral couple – responsible for teaching

• An Elder couple – responsible for oversight
